I programmed a "Bonus Deal", with attacks, on the simulator at Fairchild in 1969, probably the first one on a simulator. Comments: I checked out in the F Model at Castle in '71, then G's and D's .... 2 Bullet Shots, 1 Arc Light .... Taught school at the Carswell CCTS until it closed, stood my last alert tour in an H sortie over Christmas '83, then on to other things. I suspect I am the only P111X0 who ever lived....long story. I retired in '88 and am with Texas Instruments now in Ky. Like most of us, I still wake up some mornings listening to 8 engines, tuning up a scope, or giving range and azimuth to the guy behind. It's good to see so many names, some special ones in particular. Thanks for some great memories. Best of luck all. And thank you, Dave. Nice work.

Comments: I just found this site yesterday. After reading the names listed, I realized that I have been gone for a longer time than I thought. Was lucky enough to put two tours at Wright-Pat and one at Barksdale. Did a couple of tours in Ark Light. I retired after the second tour as they said we were going back again. My wife just could not handle 5 teenagers alone, again. I really missed the flying. I am in the book, if anyone wants to call.

Comments: Former BUFF Co-Pilot @ Plattsburgh (68-71). I know we had gunners, but sure haven't seen any familiar names on the site.e.g, Walt Buchtan, Cal Snapp & my ARC LIGHT guns: Jim Donnelly. Where are you guys? After the war, flew C-7s in AFRES while using GI Bill for law school; then being a masochist, went back in as a JAG and retired in 1993. Would like to hear from Jim Donnelly or learn of his whereabouts. Great site! It was an honor to fly with you guys.

Hit Castle in 73', home base flying G's at 19thBW/28thBS Robins AFB and riding big D's on TDY in Guam and Utapo. Went my merry way in 77'. A guy sportin' stripes in the USAF couldn't have a better job than ridin' tail, that's for sure!!!

Flew the MIG Killer 676 into Fairchild AFB, saddest day of my career knowing that I would never fly D models again. Flew B-52G's out of Guam until December 1986. Went to Wurtsmith AFB from 1986 to 1991 when we got the axe. Became a Flight Engineer at Tinker AFB on E-3 AWACS from December 1992 to June 1994 and came to Elmendorf AFB, Alaska in June 1994. Flew until December 1995 and then went into Command and Control. Due to go terminal 1 Sept 1999. Would like some information on the Gunner's Worldwide Association.

Comments: KLAXON KLAXON KLAXON!!! My heart still beats a little faster when I hear that thing go off. Barksdale G's 86-90. got out & got my pilot's licenses and do a little corporate flying, and weekend trips to Key West. But it is nothing like being in the BUFF. I am tearing apart JT8 jet engines and selling the parts to the airlines and overhaul facilities. If you are in Florida drop me a line.
